How to register

To register with Australian Geographic, you need to purchase a product. This will take you to the checkout page where you simply click the "join" feature, and you will be automatically registered and logged in to continue the check out.

Individual Accounts

When you register with Australian Geographic, your e-mail address will be your user ID. You can set up your own shopping list for items you wish to purchase regularly. PLEASE NOTE: We do not store credit card details with your account information which means you must re-enter this information for each purchase.

Changing your personal details

Simply send a message to ausgeo.com.au via your member's messaging service requesting a change of details.

My e-mail address has changed

Simply send a message to ausgeo.com.au via your member's messaging service requesting a change of details. DO NOT register as a new user as you will lose any purchase histories and account information, including credits.

I have forgotten my password. What can I do?

If you forget your password, simply send a message to ausgeo.com.au via your member's messaging service requesting a change of details.. An e-mail will be sent to your address with your nominated Australian Geographic password. Remember that e-mail addresses and passwords are case sensitive. If this still does not work, please call us.

The site rejects my e-mail address

If the site tells you that your e-mail address is incorrect, please check that it doesnòt contain white-space, commas (,) and it is written in the correct syntax such as: ab@x.y.z

The site tells me my e-mail is already in use

Every e-mail in our database must be unique. This should not be a problem for most customers, but it can affect people who share a common e-mail. If you are receiving an error stating that the e-mail is already in use, please discuss it with other users you share it with - you will need to set a common password and personal information.

THE ORDERING PROCESS

How to place an order

Ordering is easy, all you need to is follow these steps:

  1. Browse from our shop, select your products and enter the quantities that you would like.
  2. When ready, click 'Shopping Cart'. Here you can make final alterations to your order.
  3. Finalise your delivery details. Once you are ready, submit the form to enter your purchase details.
  4. Enter your credit card details, and click "Purchase". The transaction will be processed AT THIS point. It will usually take less than 30 seconds.
  5. If the transaction is successful you will a "purchase confirmation number" and verification of your delivery date and time. You will also be sent a confirmation e-mail.

All prices & offers are subject to change without notice. Errors & omissions excepted. All prices include GST.
For cheques please allow 10 working days for clearance. Goods ordered by fax or post will be charged at the current price on the day of receipt. For out of stock items, delivery dates given are only estimates.

Can I phone through an order?

Our customer service department is always happy to help you with any of your inquiries or problems. As Australian Geographic is an online service we are only able to take your orders over the internet.

Ordering product quantities

When you enter the quantity of a product, you must enter a whole number (1,2,3,4,‰). Do not enter fractions, decimals or weights. Products are sold by a multiple of their ³unitò.

TECHNICAL ISSUES

Issues with Netscape

There is a known problem with versions of Netscape navigator prior to 4.06.

A warning will be displayed: Certificate authority is expired

To resolve this problem, download the current version of Navigator from Netscape

Issues with Macintosh Users Using Internet Explorer

There is a known problem with versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer prior to 4.51.

A warning will be displayed: Unable to establish a secure connection to site.
There is a problem with the security certificate from that site.(The identity certificate has expired.)

To resolve this problem, download the current version of Internet Explorer from Microsoft

The web site seems slow, what could be wrong?

Sometimes there are problems with the Internet. If the site appears slow, it could mean that there is a problem somewhere along the network ³pathò between your computer and our web server. Due to the nature of the Internet, we are not able to monitor every possible connection. Network problem are beyond our control, but it is the nature of ISPòs to monitor and fix network problems ASAP.

BROWSER SETTINGS

Proxies / Caches

An Internet proxy or cache may cause problems accessing our site. It may confuse the site or browser by displaying incorrect information or not being able to register your identity. To overcome this, please put "www.Australian Geograpic" in the list of Proxy Server Exclusions. This setting can be found in your browseròs Options or Preferences menu. Please see your browseròs help section on how to do this.
